FRANK TURNER'S REPLACEMENT IS??

Bonjour

Here we go...

BAND ANNOUNCEMENT!

You lot are a difficult bunch to please! We've been inundated with suggestions on who should replace Frank...

We wanted a band that Frank's fans already love. A band with a similar punk rock ethic. A band who played 2000trees last year and went down a storm. A band with massive crossover appeal. A band that we as organisers personally love. And most importantly, a band that you guys have requested over and over and over again. So ladies and gentleman, we give you....

THE KING BLUES

Hope you are as excited as we are!

EARLY ENTRY PERMITS SOLD OUT!!

Not that we're bragging (much) but Early Entry Permits for 2000trees have officially SOLD OUT! Boo ya, touch down!

Don't worry we still have a few weekend tickets left, but at the rate they're going we estimate they'll be gone by the end of May! So get em while you can!

Yo Easter Bunnies!

Hope you all had an awesome long weekend!

As promised here's the link for priority tickets for a very special 2000 Trees after party featuring Frank Turner & Jim Lockey on the 23rd of July 2009 at Cheltenham Town Hall.  (A week after this years 2000 Trees Festival).

TICKET LINK

We've negotiated you guys a week to buy your tickets before anyone else prior to them going on general release next week so get yours soon to avoid disappointment.

Unfortunately the last mail out said tickets were £4, but actually we meant to write £5.  I think you'll agree that's still cheap as chips for an evening with Frank and friends!

Message from Frank Turner!!!!!!!

O.K We have some good news and some bad news for you all.

BAD NEWS.

Unfortunately Frank Turner has, as of today, pulled out of this years 2000 Trees Festival.  Booooooo! (Check out full statement from the man himself copied below and here at http://www.frank-turner.com/blog.html ).  It's nothing personal, as you know Frank loves 2000 Trees and has been with us from the start, but duty calls from across the atlantic (to support Offspring) and as such he's had to cancel 2000 Trees and T in the Park.

GOOD NEWS.

We spoke to Frank last night and the good news is that to make it up to all of you, he's jetting back from the states the very next week to play a special 2000 Trees, THE AFTERMATH gig with Jim Lockey at Cheltenham Town Hall on the 23rd of July 2009.   The best bit is that you guys on the 2000 Trees mailing list will be given priority, and ridiculously cheap, tickets at just £4!!!!! So come along it promises to be a brilliant night. Whoooooop!

The link will be posted on our website from the 14th of April.

Again we are extremely gutted by the news, but hey, when you're booking bands of such high quality that they can be called away at the drop of the hat, for international tours, then sometimes these things are unavoidable!  With that in mind, we've got loads more awesome bands lined up, which will thrill your pants off at 2000 Trees.

Have a great long weekend!

Cheers

Words from Frank

Please, PLEASE Don't Kill Me

Heavy lies the head that wears the crown, innit. The last few days have seen me quietly agonizing over some really painful decisions. Well, I say painful; in the end, having to chose between two great options isn't exactly excruciating, but... well, you'll see what I mean. In a frankly overwhelmingly awesome development, I have been asked to open for The Offspring on their summer run of arena shows in the USA. "Smash" was one of the first punk records I ever bought, and I'm blown away to even be considered for the shows. From a "career" point of view, it's also great - playing to many thousands of people a night across the States is an opportunity not to be sniffed at.

Now, the bad news. The dates clash with some pre-existing commitments, in the way of UK festivals. Principally, both T In The Park and 2000 Trees Festival fall under the shadow of this tour. Thus I have a dilemma, and have been agonizing.

In the end, I've decided to go with the Offspring shows - it's simply too good an opportunity to pass up. However, I'm painfully aware of how this is going to piss people off. I was super-excited to be playing T this year, and 2000 Trees is, as many know, a festival very close to my heart. I haven't missed a year yet, and it's going to suck not being there. So, to start off with, I'll openly apologize to anyone planning on seeing me at either festival.

Apologies, empty words, only get me so far. So, we've set about trying to make amends in the way of shows. Firstly, I'll be playing a show later in the summer in Scotland. Secondly, I'll be playing a show at Cheltenham Town Hall on the 23rd July, let's call it "2000 Trees The Aftermath". This show will be £5 in (the cheapest we could make it), and will feature a full band set, as well as Mr Jim Lockey in support. It's being co-promoted by the 2000 Trees team and tickets will be exclusively available through the 2000 Trees website from Tuesday 14th April. I know these shows won't be possible for everyone at the festival to make, and for that I can only say sorry. I hope people understand the position I'm in, and my reasons for making this choice.

HURRY……EARLY ENTRY PERMITS NEARLY SOLD OUT!

Oi oi!

Yes folks, you heard it here first....

EARLY ENTRY PERMITS NEARLY SOLD OUT!

Nearly. What does that mean?

Well, the last time we checked there were only 31 tickets left.  So if you want to come to the sunny Cotswolds a day early for our "Special Guests Night", be the first to sample the legendary Badgers Bottom, and generally just chill with the organisers and friends then you better head over to our ticket page now!

You know who's playing. We know who's playing. It's FRANKly the worst kept secret ever, but on the flip side maybe that's one of the reasons the night is nearly sold out!

WANT MORE NEWS?

1. We have a twitter page.  So come Tweet-us-up!

2. Featuring the rather wonderful Peanut Albinos, Beans on Toast and Jim Lockey, the 2000trees London gig (on Friday May 22nd) is rapidly approaching. You can get your tickets here.

3. Our Cheltenham Battle of the Bands competition continues...the remaining dates are:

- Friday April 17th (Electric@2Pigs)

- Friday May 8th (Acoustic@Frog)

- Saturday May 9th (Electric@2Pigs)

YOUR NEW FAVOURITE BAND IS...

One of the best things about 2000trees is the chance to discover ace new bands, so in this (soon to become) regular feature we'll be giving you a gentle push in the right direction. So, here goes...

Firstly, the best live bands we've seen this year are The Epstein and Dananananaykroyd. Secondly, our favourite band in the world ever ever ever is Amplifier. Click on the links to check em out.

Peas and love
