Birthdays & Awards

UK FESTIVAL AWARDS!

Last week we attended the festival industry’s end of year bash at the 02 in London.  We were pretty ecstatic to find out that we’d won the Grass Roots Festival Award 2010 and also that we came 2nd in the Best Toilets category!  This is all down to your votes, and for that, we are sincerely grateful.  Muchos thanks to all those that voted!

Lots of people have asked us what the Grass Roots award actually means… well we’ll leave it to the organisers of the awards to describe….

“Often the best small festivals spring from an organic labour of love and a long-time dream which has been shared by thousands more.  These festivals should be celebrated, not just for the courage and vision shown by their organisers, but also because they never forget where they’ve come from, supporting their local communities and new music along the way while retaining an independent spirit and resisting commercial saturation’.

In other news…..

OUR 5TH BIRTHDAY, WHOOP!

We are very very excited about next year.  The 5th 2000trees would you believe?!

We’ve got some very cool things planned for our 5th birthday, including a brand new website which is currently under development, our BEST LINE UP EVER and a new improved site layout for Upcote Farm.  Information on all of this (and another top secret announcement) will be coming your way in January.  Be patient 🙂

Oh yeah, nearly forgot…. 2000trees’ 5th birthday shindig will take place on July 15th & 16th 2011.   Tickets will be on sale from our brand spanking new website from February 1st.

Just before we go…talking about birthdays, it’s also Si’s birthday tomorrow!  So if you see him feel free to give him the bumps – he’s slightly older than 5 though 🙂

If we don’t speak to you before, then have a wonderful Xmas and a funky New Year.

Big Love

Rob, Mark, Bren, Andy, Si and James
